Portugal, 2021
An invitation to spend a week in Portugal doesn't go astray.
Highlands & Islands
An escape north to Scotland, a rare treat in 2020.
Tales from New York
New York, one of the world's great cities, photographed over a span of 25 years. The only question: when will I continue the story?
Shanghai and Beijing
Highlights from a short trip to Shanghai and Beijing, a first visit to China.
Grand Canyon to Great Wall
As 2018 neared its conclusion, I finished up in my London job and took off for a 4+ month sabbatical, with the broad intention to spend considerable time with family in Australia. Bookended by visits to the Grand Canyon and the Great Wall, this is a sample of some of the things I got up to.
Cadel Evans Road Race
Cadel Evans became Australia's first Tour De France winner in 2011, and of late resides in Barwon Heads, not far from Geelong. As part of his cycling legacy, Cadel's name has been put to a one day race that tracks through Geelong and the local region - and an easy walk from my location in Highton - and which is on the UCI Cycling Tour calendar.
Australian Airshow
The 2019 Australian International Airshow was held at Avalon Airport, close to Geelong, in March, and a perfect chance to see an airshow for the first time - albeit in stifling heat. I discovered that airshows draw out amateur photographers like no other event. The full Friday program can be found at https://www.airshow.com.au/airshow2019/PUBLIC/program/friday-program.asp.
Canberra Roadtrip
A journey from Geelong to Canberra, through the NSW Southern Highlands, and, after a detour to Griffith, back again. 2500km in the car, encompassing national parks, cricket, family and friends.
2019 Australian Open
With time on my hands, I was able to spend a couple of days in Melbourne at the 2019 Australian Open, soaking up the tournament's atmosphere.
